Workout 5:30-7, work 8-4, now I’m going back to the gym for cardio 4:30-5, dinner 5:30-6 and then I have 4 hours for study, social (or could do a social dinner) or working on my online business/commission painting. Give it another few days and you should be fine. You can build a schedule that allows 1-2 days between muscle groups but puts you in the gym every day (still try to take at least one full rest day). About 5 is another busy time according to my friend so if you can shift your time try to find a slower time of your gym to go. I'm in bits every morning and during the day i’ve never really had a consistent gym schedule/routine, and i really want to start. So yes, some people just go to the gym to use one or two things and go home. The other week I went to the gym around 3:30 and did legs, and then I was back around the gym at 8:30 so I went in and did some pullups/dips and bi curls/tri extensions. It's not going to impact your gains that much. Sure, not that efficient but at least you did 100% more compared to staying home procrastinating. I rejoined because it felt like something I had to do. Going to a gym may or may not create an environment where you'll naturally feel like doing more, with resources where you're more effective, enjoying it more, developing a social circle at the gym and increase motivation. Most people will be friendly and probably silently respecting anyone new for taking the effort to work on themselves. I tried hitting the gym once within my 1 hour lunch break & it was super impossible to get an adequate workout. If OP's (or someone else's who is asking the same question) sleep schedule is fucked to start with and they don't have a regular gym schedule then going would help more. Personally I would cut that down to twice. You might gravitate toward doing work in the morning because your brain thinks its easier than going to the gym. I go everyday. Have a regular schedule for exactly when you will go to the gym. I promise it is way less embarrassing to ask a staff member or random person than to be the one doing it wrong. I have phases of going to the gym (few months) and taking a break (also few months) due to personal schedule. But I think 3 to 4 AM is a bit extreme. Even with diet. That 180 you're trying to do is going to snap right back in a week. Punishment: If i don't go to gym, I stop doing something I enjoy doing as a way of punishment. It is not as chubby as it used to be. Now that I think about it, it did suck having to go to the gym after a long day at work, then getting home late and going to bed not long after. On the other end of the spectrum if you're doing 30 minutes on the treadmill, you could go 7 days per week. Or I could right after school but the problem is I feel like id be more likely to just skip it and do something else and not go to the gym. But protein is protein so you can drink it more than once in a day if you want. Physically making your body go to the gym is already half the rent and a big part of the gym anxiety. Whenever you're sick -with anything- you're body is trying to do one thing: get rid of the bug. However after 3/4 days all soreness was gone and since then I have been able to go to the gym and I never really get sore anymore. Talking takes up time that could be used lifting. Reply reply Any time I start a new gym I go and basically do the treadmill for 20 or so min, stairclimber, or other "simple" cardio machines and kind if observe everyone/ everything around me without being creepy and get used to the gym and where things are first, then slowly work my way into the machines that I'm comfortable with or that I've seen someone I work 7. I work out at lifetime fitness so I have quite a few amenities thats why I bring a lot. You can go to the super fancy gym that costs you $80 - $100 a month or the $10/month strip mall gym. I used to be a womans gym, if you can go to one give it a go. If walks and non- gym activity gets you where you want to be fitness wise while being more consistent, that's great. If, however, you're doing something like a split or alternating hypertrophy/power, or even a modified PPL, you can definitely go consecutively. Currently with my work set up, I now have time after work to actually work out. In my early tattoos I definitely waited longer. Honestly the biggest weight loss whether you want to go to the gym or not, is going to be coming from the kitchen. So I guess what I recommend would depend on whether this is a regular occurrence for OP. But on that first day, 315 pounds seemed like a mountain, chalk dust seemed like an impenetrable fog, and grunts reminded me that this was a language and culture I didn’t understand. You sound like you live a fairly active life anyway. id recommend getting a buddy to go to the gym with I usually go to bed after getting home from work, having woken up around midnight.
